Privacy Policy

• Account data. Your name, email address, and sign-in identity, managed by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Payment data. Purchases are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we keep the purchase record (pack, amount, date) and your credit balance.
• Video content. The video sources you link or upload, plus what we derive from them to provide the service: transcripts, clip selections, scores, and rendered clips.
• Usage records. Service events such as jobs started, previews generated, approvals, renders, and refunds, recorded in our own database. They power your billing history and our reliability monitoring. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the site.
• Support messages. Emails you send to help@klip.farm and our replies.

We use this data to run the service: processing your sources into clips, showing previews, rendering approved clips, keeping your pack balance and billing history accurate, issuing automatic refunds when renders fail, sending transactional email (job completion, receipts, account notices), preventing fraud and free-tier abuse, and improving reliability. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your video content to advertise to anyone.

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — processing your sources, rendering clips, managing your balance, and delivering what you bought.
• Legitimate interests — preventing fraud and free-tier abuse, securing the service, and monitoring reliability, balanced against your rights.
• Legal obligation — keeping purchase and billing records for tax and accounting law.
• Consent — the referral cookie is set only when you follow a referral link, and any future marketing email will be opt-in.

Klip Farm shares data with a short list of processors, each only for its job:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payment processing; card data is handled entirely by Stripe.
• Our cloud hosting provider — application hosting and request logs.
• Our managed database provider — our database (account, job, clip, billing, and usage records).
• Our email delivery provider — transactional email delivery.
• Publishing infrastructure partner — social publishing delivery. When you ask us to publish a clip to a connected social destination, the clip file and the caption you wrote travel through our publishing partner to reach that platform. It receives only what is needed to make that post.

If you connect a publishing destination (for example a social account), the platform you connect receives the clips you choose to publish there, under that platform's own terms.

We set two kinds of cookies, and no advertising or analytics cookies:

We also use plain browser storage that stays on your device and is not a tracking mechanism:

• App intro flag (sessionStorage, klip-farm:splash-intro-played) — remembers that the signed-in intro animation already played in this browser tab session; never sent to our servers.
• One-time nudge flag (localStorage, kf-referral-nudge-shown) — keeps the referral nudge to a single appearance per browser; never sent to our servers.
• Onboarding preferences (localStorage, klip-farm-onboarding keys) — a convenience copy of your onboarding choices so the form remembers where you were; the choices themselves are saved to your account when you submit them.

How long we keep each class of data:

• Account data. Kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
• Source videos and intermediate processing data. Kept only as long as needed to provide the service (transcribing, scoring, rendering); removed on account deletion.
• Delivered clips and your library. Kept until you delete them or your account — approval packs never expire, so nothing is auto-purged out from under you.
• Usage records (jobs, approvals, renders, refunds). Kept for the life of the account so your billing history stays accurate; deleted with the account.
• Purchase and billing records. Retained for the statutory tax and accounting period even after account deletion, then deleted.
• Support emails. Kept as long as needed to resolve the request and reference past support history.
• Hosting request logs. Short-lived operational logs used for reliability and security monitoring.

You can request access to the personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, an export in a portable format, or deletion (see below). Write to help@klip.farm from the email address on your account. We aim to reply within one business day. Depending on where you live, these rights may be backed by laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor the requests regardless of where you live.

If you live in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (sections 1–4 are the complete list), to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to receive it in a portable format. Exercising these rights never changes the price or quality of the service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — there are no advertising or analytics trackers on the site, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you send an opt-out request anyway, we will confirm that status in writing. You can use an authorized agent for any request; we verify agent requests with you directly before acting.

Klip Farm operates from the United States, and the processors listed above store and process data primarily in the United States. If you use the service from outside the US — including the EEA, UK, or Switzerland — your data is transferred to and processed in the US. Where the GDPR applies, those transfers rely on the safeguards our processors provide, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy mechanism, and we will only work with processors that offer one.

Klip Farm is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (the age set by COPPA in the US). The terms of service require account holders to be at least 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or that we hold a child's data, email help@klip.farm and we will delete it promptly.

To delete your account and data:

1. Email help@klip.farm with the subject "Delete my account", sent from the email address on your Klip Farm account.
2. We confirm the request to that address before acting on it.
3. Within 30 days we delete your account, video sources, transcripts, clips, and usage records, and instruct our processors to do the same. Billing records we are legally required to keep (for tax and accounting) are retained for the statutory period and then deleted.

Download any clips you want to keep before requesting deletion — delivered clips are removed with the account and cannot be recovered afterward. If you signed in through a connected platform, deletion requests made through that platform's tools reach the same process via this page.

Klip Farm offers integration with YouTube. Linking a public YouTube video as a source does not access your Google account. If you connect a YouTube channel for publishing (as this integration rolls out), Klip Farm requests only the permission needed to upload the clips you approve to the channel you connected, at the times you choose. We do not read your channel's private data, and you can disconnect at any time from settings, which stops all access.

Klip Farm's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. For material changes we will give notice on the site or by email before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
